Now if it could just stop it with the needless gorilla faces, it'd be damn near perfect. But everyone's got their own perspective, and that this series (and this book in particular) really remembers that elevates it above a lot of other romantic comedies. Aida again comes off as surprisingly not terrible, which may be the volume's biggest triumph it would have been so easy to just make him a superficial jerk. Aoki finally confessing to Ida means that the other boy is really starting to think about his feelings and to realize that maybe there's more going on than he initially thought when it comes to Aoki, while Hashimoto is forced to realize that events that meant the world to her weren't even on Aida's radar. Mostly this is due to the fact that it continues to explore the idea of who you like and why while simultaneously having nothing to do with gender or sexuality it's tackling the topic from a strictly emotional point of view. There's not a ton of plot progression to this volume, but what we have is important. ![]()
